The study of chords is a vital aspect of learning guitar, typically because a chord or a combination of chords forms the skeleton of a song. Learning chords takes you to a higher level of guitar skill. Knowing a large amount of chords helps any guitar player to investigate better a song they hear, an exercise and unquestioningly, to make their own music instead of playing other musicians songs all the time.

So, here are 3, commonest chords easy to play on guitar and practice with, particularly if you study guitar chords online .

C Major Chord

Position your 3rd finger on the 3rd fret of the fifth string, your 2nd finger on the following fret of the 4th string. Lastly, place the initial finger on the 1st fret of the second string. Now for the strumming, do not hit the 6th string. Focus on your pick and strum only the bottom five strings. Make sure all the notes come out clearly, without buzzing. Voila! You've a straightforward C Major chord.

G Major Chord

For this G chord, place your second finger on the third fret of the 6th string, your first finger on the 2nd fret of the 1st string. Next, take your 3rd finger and put it on the 3rd fret of the first string. Make sure you're not holding down any other strings than those you are meant to and have a firm grip. Employing a plectrum, hit all six strings in a flowing motion. You may obtain a multi-note which is the sound of this G chord.

E Major Chord

Place your second finger on the 2nd fret of the 5th string, third finger on the second fret of the 4th string, and finally, your 1st finger on the 1st fret of the third string. Play all the strings, and hear your E chord.

Now, as a general idea, as you practice with chords, don't press the strings to hard, because this may generally bring on a sharpened pain in your fretting fingers after a bit, if you do not have a trained hand. However , have a firm grip, to obtain the required notes. I usually learn guitar chords online, 1 or 2 each day, and practice with other four or five I've learned to keep them always fresh in my memory. Irrespective of what others say, that you really need a tutor or to attend classes, web can be a good guitar tutor if you're keen to learn.

If you're looking for a guitar that's not the same old Stratocaster or Les Pal clone, a Gretsch hollowbody might be what you're looking for. The G5122 is a high-quality Korean import that yields great twang at an inexpensive price. What's under the hood, then?

The G5122 is a hollowbody guitar that features a laminated maple body and top. The neck is also made of laminated maple and features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium jumbo frets. The guitar is a 24.56" scale with a 1-11/16" (43mm) nut width. Gretsch outfits the G5122 with a pair of chrome-covered Dual-Coil humbuckers.

The hardware definitely adds to the guitar's style. The G5122 features G-Arrow Knobs, standard Gretsch strap knobs, chrome hardware, and vintage-style machine heads. A Bigsby B60 vibrato (hey, this is a Gretsch after all, right?) and an Adjusto-Matic bridge complete the picture.

We wanted some authentic tones with this guitar, so we chose some amps that had a real "vintage" vibe, a Fender Twin Reverb and a Dr. Z MAZ-18 NR 1 x 12 combo. From chickin' pickin' to strummed chords, the G5122 is the real deal, and everything from Chet Atkins to George Harrison sounds at home with this big-sounding instrument.

Through our test amplifiers, the tones were clear and shimmering on clean settings and provided just the right amount of "bite" on overdriven tones. Shredders should probably stay away from the G5122, but all other players could find something useful with this offering from Gretsch, and that's saying something. The guitar could easily be used for everything from a jazz trio to a blues jam session.

We did have some minor complaints. The tuners felt a little cheap and might be need upgrades in the future, but they held their tuning well, even while using the vintage-style Bigsby vibrato. The floating bridge could take some getting used to, but it intonated well and definitely adds to the vintage feel.

We have no complaints with the G5122's fit, finish, and action. The Walnut Stain urethane finish is beautiful and gives the guitar a classy vibe that few others can match in this price range. Chording and lead work alike flowed with ease once we adjusted the bridge to our liking (and adjusted the truss rod properly).

The neck felt comfortable with very good action. Couple the ease of play with the guitar's lightweight design, and you've got an instrument that you could keep strapped on all night comfortably. With a street price of around $700, the Gretsch G5122 is a great deal on guitar with classic vintage-vibe.

These exercises are great for relaxing the neck muscles. When doing head warm-ups be sure to maintain good posture and execute them slowly. This is to be emphasized for all of the other exercises as well to prevent injury.

Sometimes the drum heads may even puncture when the hit is hard. If all this still does not provide you with good reasons to go for a new one at regular intervals, then you should realize that once it becomes weak it is difficult for you to play the roll or the fast chops. As a drummer you should change your drum heads after every six months.

However, most of the drummers choose the ones that provide sustainability, a good quality tone, excellent durability along with a great blend of depth and attack. A few drum heads may consist of a ring or a dot in the middle. These are considered excellent for tonal focusing. They also help in longevity of the drum skins by straightening the head from the middle.

Some would say that it's a secondary rhythm section (second line) that answers the calls of a "first-line" rhythm section in a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade. The first line would play a rhythm and the "second line" would respond to it, others will tell you that it's just something that comes from New Orleans music and involves a marching snare rhythm: They'll admit that they don't know where it comes from but they're quick to show you an example of how they think it's played.

So after reading up on things and listening to a handful of second line drummers, I've determined that although there are a lot of variations of second line you can play, most follow a specific feel and style. The best way to get started would be to play a simple Bo Diddley beat, mixing in an occasional double stroke roll at the beginning or end of the phrase: Play the bass drum with the accents or simply play "4 on the floor" (straight quarter notes)

Learn the 7 essential rudiments (at least) accurately and up to speed. (Especially the single and double stroke rolls). Know and recognize all the styles and be able to play variations of each. Have a thorough understanding of rhythmic note values and sight-reading.Know the "name" players in the industry and their contributions to the drum world.

BUT, I did win; with a score of 956 beats in 60 seconds! It wasn't my best score up to that point, but at least I was now going to the International Fastest Drummer finals qualifications and NAMM. And I had about 2 months to practice! An important part of drum playing is relaxed breathing. A good warm-up, whether you are sitting or standing, is to take a slow, deep breath, filling the lungs with air.

Some days use your entire practice time on developing your tuning skills. You want to know each of your drum's best sound. You need to be able to hear it in you mind so when you tune a drum to that sound you will know it.

My experience with the speed drumming is a strange one. Basically, one October day, while picking up some drum sticks at a local music store, I noticed drummers using a device called a "Drumometer. This "drumming speed" measurement device used a practice pad for a striking surface with an embedded piezo trigger. The trigger was connected to a counter-timer computer brain that had a count and a timer display.

And most of the really successful speed drummers obviously did not want to give away ALL their secrets (understandably). So, I did what I could. And after spending 3 weeks (1-2 hours per session, 4-6 days per week), I managed to improve my speed by about 60-70 beats per minute. I really didn't expect to win though; since several of Mike Mangini's Berklee students were to be part of the regional competition.

Drumming at times can be a bit strenuous, though you will be able to play for hours when keeping the body relaxed. Without performing warm-up exercises before playing, the body can become tense and show signs of fatigue within a short while. We will explore exercises that are quick and easy encompassing the whole body from head to toe.

Vinnie Colauita once said, "Just play in 7 for like an hour". This is especially insightful as we can often get caught up in studying things too closely and miss the point. Sheer repetition will help lead to more comfort in odd times.

Learn the 7 essential rudiments (at least) accurately and up to speed. (Especially the single and double stroke rolls). Know and recognize all the styles and be able to play variations of each. Have a thorough understanding of rhythmic note values and sight-reading.

Well, I asked around a bit and was surprised to learn that the history of second line is a bit cloudy. Nobody can seem to agree on how it evolved, I heard stories about there being a line of musicians and staff that marched behind the mourners (second line) at a funeral parade in New Orleans. Apparently the musicians would play funeral marches on the way to the funeral and more livelier pieces on the return home.

Drummers like Zigaboo Modeliste and Johnny Vidacovich mixed second line with syncopated funk, developing a style called "second-line funk drumming". This style was popularized in many famous bands that came from New Orleans like the Meters (see below). Second line drumming often involves a 3/2 son clave not dissimiliar to the Bo Diddley beat although it doesn't necessarily always follow that rule, and Second line beats are also called "Street Beats".

The first step to learning your guitar in a snap is the most obvious. Sit down and actually practice. By actually practicing I mean not always playing what you enjoy, or are familiar with.

In this regard, if you are interested in learning or mastering finger picking techniques, there are some different options that you will want to explore on the Net today. If you are interested in learning guitar and have never participated in guitar lessons, you really might like to turn your attention to finger picking. On some level it is a great way for you to be introduced to guitar.

The first thing I will say to you is this: Unless you are practicing to be a professional, don't pick up the guitar unless you actually want to. The most valuable part of a practice session is that you actually enjoy it. If you want to be in a band, or want to play on the jam circuit, then I would recommend picking up your guitar once a day and spending at least an hour with it.

Flatpicking has become quite common in bluegrass music but that does not mean that playing bluegrass guitar has become easier. It just means you have to work as hard on your flatpicking technique as you would have had to work on your fingerpicking in the early days. A great flatpicker does not need the extra notes provided by fingerpicking to sustain interest.

In this regard, these interactive sites can be well suited to novices and more experienced players alike. Once again, as with other types of sites online, you can learn techniques like the funk-skunk on interactive sites that are running online today. Finally, there are online guitar playing communities through which people like you can learn a vast array of guitar techniques including such things as funk-skunk.

Through this overview you will be able to closely consider whether learning the funk-skunk technique might be a good course for you to pursue when it comes to learning guitar. Before you are provided with some direction on where you might be able to access funk-skunk lessons, you really should have at least a bit of a basic understanding of what this technique is all about. In this regard, the reality is that people who are proficient in playing guitar generally agree that they really do not know how the term funk-skunk itself developed.

When you are choosing your repertoire, you can spread your net wide. No need to stick to the Top Forty, go for the Top One Hundred of whatever decade you feel comfortable with. An easy way out that does not need too much research is to just jot down a bunch of Beatles titles.

Using backing tracks you will be always playing in time and you will find that you are looking forward to your guitar practice because you enjoy playing with a band in your bedroom. When you have obtained some backing tracks to help you with your guitar practice, start using them right away. And if you find after a week or so that you are beginning to practice without using your backing tracks, make an effort to go back to using them.

A Closer Look At MP3 Players

It's easy to enjoy music with a digital MP3 player, or MP4 player as they are sometimes called. With a shuffle function you can listen to your songs in a random order, and fit your whole music library on a pocket sized player. Have you ever wondered where your music is stored?

Older MP3 players use a hard drive to store music files. Hard drives offer amazing amounts of memory for file storage. The iPod Classic has up to 160GB. However, players with hard drives are heavier, and have generally poorer battery life, as the hard drive has moving parts inside it, and requires more power to operate them.

It's increasingly common for MP3 players now to use flash memory rather than a hard drive, to store data. In fact there are only a few manufactures still using hard drives in their MP3 players, Archos and Apple are two well known examples.

There are some important advantages to using flash memory in MP3 players, which have benefited both manufactures and consumers. Flash memory is cheaper, lighter, and smaller than a hard drive, they also use less power, which leads to better battery life; and this means that flash based MP3 players can be much smaller and cheaper than hard drive based models.

Flash memory does have it's constraints. Mainly that that the memory capacity is much less than a hard drive. Flash memory usually comes in 8GB and 16GB sizes, which is much smaller than a 160GB player from Apple. Also, additional flash memory cards to add to your MP3 player can be expensive.

There's more to an MP3 player than just music. Almost all MP3 players now come with a color display in a range of different sizes. The smallest are usually 1.8 inch and they can be as big as 4.3 inch or 5 inch. This has transformed MP3 players into videos players too. While watching full length movies on 1.8 inch screen may not be practical, it's still fun to watch short video clips or music videos. The larger screen MP3 players can come with 16:9 ratio screen, and it's a perfect way to watch movie.
